STEINWAY SOCIETY PIANO BANK

Learning to play the piano can have a positive influence on the life of a child, and cultivate a lifelong love of music. To that end, the Steinway Society of Massachusetts has established a “Piano Bank” to donate reconditioned pianos to deserving students and non-profit organizations across the state who might otherwise not be able to afford a piano. Our goal is to give gifted young pianists a chance to develop their talent by putting “retired” instruments back to work.

The first such donation took place when the Steinway Society delivered a reconditioned upright piano to 9-year old Edwin Mejia, Jr., of East Boston.

The Society is actively seeking both willing donors and individuals or organizations that may be interested in receiving a piano bank instrument.
